What can I expect from the procedure?

The Consultation: A pre-treatment restorative consultation is required at our San Luis Obispo office to make sure that you are an ideal candidate for the procedure. Dr. Walters will perform a thorough and careful examination, in order to make sure that All-on-4 dental implants are the best option. A second surgical consultation is then scheduled and completed with the oral surgeon.
Placing The Implants: An oral surgeon removes the remaining teeth and places the dental implants that will support the new teeth. Once this stage is completed, patients generally have to wait 3-6 months for the implants to integrate/heal with the jawbone. Although Dr. Walters is not involved with this part of the process, his expert surgical team will ensure that everything meets his high standards. On the day of implant surgery, the patient will see Dr. Walters to attach a temporary set of new teeth that will be secured in place for 3-6 months. This first set of teeth allow for the dental implants to heal, and for Dr. Walters to evaluate the patients’ overall facial and oral aesthetics, speech and function.
Permanent Restorations: After the implants have healed, a set of permanent restorations are fabricated and fitted using digital technology to provide a truly life-changing outcome.
